The damages one experiences in life often result from a combination of events linked to addiction and other intertwined problems. The key point to note here is that Grasshopper Philosophy specifies damages without fixating solely on addiction.

It does not find it necessary nor helpful to establish a distinction, because we view addiction as a holistic problem beyond substances and behaviors.
